The monophyly and the classification of the terrestrial isopods (Crustacea, Isopoda, Oniscidea)

Article: In accordance with our previous opinions (Tabacaru and Danielopol, 1996, 1999; Tabacaru and Giurginca, 2014, 2019), we argue again the monophyly of Oniscidea one of the well-defined suborders of the Order Isopoda. The monophyly of Oniscidea was maintained by numerous authors but the polyphyly of this group is recently claimed by molecular analysis papers.

A new species of the genus Harpactea (Araneae, Dysderidae) from the Carpathians Mountains (Romania)

Caucasonethes vandeli pygmaeus n.ssp. (Crustacea, Isopoda, Oniscidea) from Movile Cave (Southern Dobrogea, Romania)

Article: 41 species of Oniscidea are recorded from Dobrogea, a crossroad of the Western, Southern and, especially, Northern and Southern spreading areas: a third of the species are endemic with Southern Dobrogea harboring a quarter of the endemic species (GIURGINCA and ĆURČIĆ, 2003).

Bats (Chiroptera) from Dobrogean karstic shelters

Article: Frequent karstic structures in Dobrogea should be safety shelters for bat fauna. In spite of national and international regulations to protect Chiroptera, today, caves, mining tunnels, any crevices in limestone as well as tree hollows and garrets are checked by curious people and bat colonies or isolated individuals are disturbed.

Dumitru Murariu at 80ies

Article: Born on 21 Sept. 1940 in Ungureni – a low hilled locality in Botoşani County, Romania – Dumitru spent his childhood among farmers, having as a close friend the school teacher’s boy, Nelu, whose mother was also a teacher. Dumitru will never forget how Nelu’s mother evaluated her son for the second place and considered that Dumitru deserved the first award at the end of the first class.
